JSW Cement turns water provider

JSW Cement will provide piped and solar-powered water to 11 villages near to its planned grinding plant in Jajpur district, India. As part of  the company's US$13bn 'Enterprise and Social Commitment' programme the villages will be provided with water through a 7500m pipeline later this year. JSW Cement is currently building a 1.2Mta grinding plant in Jajpur district and plans to raise it to 2.4Mta in the future.

Cheetah Cement to commence operations in Namibia

Cheetah Cement's new facility in Otjiwarongo is starting the rock blasting process as it prepares to begin operations this month. The new plant represents a total investment of US$350m and was constructed by Whale Rock Cement, according to the Namibia Economist.
